My name is Nicole Wiehle and I started 852 Leather in June of 2023. I started my small business for a couple reasons. I was tired of all the marketing schemes by larger leather companies, lack of quality and poor customer service. And, unlike some companies that claim to be USA based, 852Leather actually is!
A Little About the Owner
I was born, raised and still live in Northern Illinois, about 60 miles west of Chicago. My husband Chris and I have been married almost 29 years. We have two adult human children, three canine children and two feline children. Two grand dogs, two grand cats, and one grand bearded dragon.
852 Leather?
People always ask, “Where did the name come from? So, when my kids were little, like most kids, they would ask “How much longer?”, “How much does that cost?”, “How far?”. So, I would always say, “852 minutes!”, “ 852 dollars.”, “852 miles.” And it just stuck.

852 Leather is 3 years old and I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed making beautiful bags over the last three years. I just want to thank all of you for all of your kind words, orders and support.
